More Mason Pages

Well I had quite a break from Scrapbooking and now it is time to get some stuff done. It has been fun to be able to sit down and get some more pages done. I have still been debating back and forth wether or not to print separate pages, do a shutterfly book, and what sizes to do. I saw that Leslie did her printing at Costco. They offer awesome prices so I printed out some test pages. One was a 12x12 and 2 were 8x8. I was pretty impressed. Sure it might not be quite as pretty as a shutterfly page but I think it looks great especially considering that it costs 50% less! I have also decided that 8x8 is good enough for me. That size is actually pretty close to what I see on my screen when I am creating the page so I can have a pretty good idea of how big type will be and such.

I LOVED doing this page. Mason has really slimmed down in the past year so it was great to reminisce about those chubby cheeks! I just want to reach out and pinch 'em!

Wedding Scrapbook

I've been working on a scrapbook for my parents 25th wedding anniversary... and now its finished!!! I think I did about 38 pages... wow! Here's one of my favorites. The backgrounds are mainly from the Scrapgirls 'Always' biggie, Ribbons are from Scrapgirls ribbon templates and embellishments are either Scrapgirl freebies or from my Memory Mixer software. I did all the pages on photoshop- Here's the link to the rest of the pictures: http://www.costcophotocenter.com/album/friends_albums.aspx?q=19L8N2_kAvl7WaGTHZ9FrWHweYF3UWKdO86uSFCuJoULWDQcRbhEk2A-- We ordered them from Costco because they are only 2.99 per page (12x12), which is the cheapest I have found!

I scanned in my mom's journal pages and made a spiral for the pages... I'm hoping you can download them right here.

Baby Shower

Yeah, it is 2 am and I am posting? WHAT? I have so much to do but really needed to get this baby shower invite done ASAP and it is so much easier to get things done in the middle of the night. Then as I was finishing up Mason started crying and now I am waiting to make sure that he is asleep for good before I go to bed...so I might as well post right? It stinks when you just get to sleep and then the crying starts up again!

Anyhow I just did this baby shower invite for my friends shower that is in a couple of weeks. I was thinking about attaching it to bags of popcorn (get it?) but she has 46 people on her list so I don't think I'll do that. Anyhow I didn't use any products on this beside the tools in Photoshop Elements and some great fonts...Ma Sexy, Decker, and Broadway. Decker seems to be one of my favorite fonts for journaling. I love the way it looks when paired with more loopy and curvy fonts. I got some of the design ideas from different invitations that are for sale on Etsy. I LOVE Etsy! I could spend a lot of money there!

Birthday Invites

About a month ago I posted asking for help with finding some beach papers/elements to make a birthday invitation. Thanks for the help! As promised here are the final products. I created 2 because I did not think my little girl would like the first one, but it turns out she did so we are using the blue invitation for the final product.

Papers are from the Shabby Princess Sweet Sprinkles set and the alpha is from the Shabby Princess Festival set.

Everything is from the Two If By Sea set from Heather Ann Designs.

Stamp Sheets

Well Leslie inspired me to create something on my own in Photoshop Elements. So I gave it a shot and created this stamp sheet like one I had seen from Misty Cato's "Sights of San Diego" ...definitely not as intricate and perfectly spaced but good enough for me! I would also be glad to send it to you if you leave me a comment with your email address.

Since I have 2 kids to scrap for you will notice that many of my layouts are exactly the same but just maybe flipped around or something. Than at least all that hard work can go twice as far! Photoshop Elements makes this so easy because I can just insert new papers and pictures into the layers, make whatever small adjustments, and then save it as another file. I love it! You might also notice that I am not huge on journaling. That is something that I need to work on. I don't love filling the page up with text but those memories are just as special as the pictures so I need to conquer the challenge and go for it!

Tulips

I made this 5x7 layout for my mom's birthday so she could print it off. I want to redo it as a 12x12 layout for Laineys scrapbook. I went to an open house last Saturday for Close to My Heart (a scrapbooking company) and got one of their idea books. I loved how they used photo hangers tied with string or ribbons on their pages, so I decided that I would try to make photo hangers with photoshop and I think they turned out really good. I also made a coordinating square brad (If you would like them, give me your email and I can send them to you). I downloaded a free 30 day trial of Photoshop Elements 6.0 and it is way awesome, and really easy to use. You can get it at adobe.com

Shutterfly

I have had some digital scrapbook projects printed by a couple different companies that offer hard-bound PhotoBooks and I have decided that Shutterfly is definatly the very best! The quality is GREAT, customer service is GREAT and it is easy to upload and create. Try it out!

Here is a code for 25% OFF all Photo Books until 5-06-08 AF47-SAVE

If you get stuck or wanna know more, just ask. I think I'll make something for Mother's Day or Father's Day or something for someone. Maybe a kid's book. They have really cute and fun books where you can upload your child's photo and place them right in the story book! Its cute! Check it out at www.shutterfly.com

Plus- they just joined forces with Creating Memories so they have already designed scrapbook pages!

Traditional pages?

So I myself have never been much of a scrapbooker until this digital stuff was made known to me. Getting started with digital was hard too. It takes a while to find your groove and to figure out what software you like and then to figure out how to use the software. I have been there and usually I still am there, but eventually it just clicks. BUT I know that some of you have done a lot of traditional scrapbooking and you have probably done some awesome stuff. So why not snap a picture of some of your favorite traditional pages and share them? This doesn't have to be totally digital stuff does it? Ultimately we just need some good ideas and support from each other. I would love to see whatcha got!

These pages are a couple of the first ones that I did where I was finally starting to figure this out and get my own style going. I started to have a lot of fun.

Labor & Delivery

I know that I have made a lot of posts lately. Mostly because I am trying to get everyone else going on this.. come on guys! I wasn't going to post these but decided to anyways!

We have quite the labor and delivery so I used one WHOLE page to tell a small portion of the story. Just in case I forget... Ha Ha!

Both pages were created with Digital eXpress products. The Amazing layout was created using the July 07 set, Amazing and the labor of love layout was created with the Amazing Moments set from April 08. OK... someone else take a turn! I am running out of layout ideas!

Learning...

Today has been a digital scrapbooking teaching day with Mandy... She taught me how so you can all expect to see some more posts from me as I will try this out myself at home. (Thanks to my great mentor!) Mandy also gave me a disc that I can use to design my layouts until I can get Photoshop. Thanks again you awesome mentor you!

Love at first sight

I made this page (a little different) with a paper pack but I have decided that I am going to do all digital for Kinsey's scrapbook (my boss just gave me a wide format printer!)

Christmas 2007

Again... I ONLY used Digital eXpress stuff, but hey! I love it! This is from the Dec. 07 pack and I lOVE it, it's called Jingle All The Way!

Memory Mixer

So here is my first post... We took these pictures with my in-laws in December of 2005 and I thought they would be fun to scrapbook. These pages were created with the Memory Mixer software (thanks for the b-day present, mom!) Purchased from Roberts Craft (with a 50% of coupon of course). Some of the embellishments are freebies from scrapgirls.com http://http://store.scrapgirls.com/category/21/Freebies which they update every week. I have loved the ideas and products from scrapgirls, way fun!

Question/Help

Ok, so I do not have a page to post today BUT I have a question. I want to create a birthday invitation for a beach/sand party for my little girl. Has anyone seen anyone good papers, embellishments, etc...that would work for this theme? Sometimes finding the right thing is so time consuming that then I lose motivation to actually scrapbook so any leads would be great!!
Thanks for the help! I promise I will post the invitation once it is created...

Mason Pages and Summer Driggs

I can't WAIT til someone else posts on here! I feel like I am monopolizing the blog. Please join in!

For our Relief Society Birthday Party our ward did a service auction. The thing that I donated was to do a digital bragbook for whoever bid the highest. So the girl who got it wanted to do the first 12 months of her little boys life. So these are some pages that I did for her and then I adjusted for Mason. It works out perfectly for me because it gives me good motivation to get some pages done for Mason. I have been trying so hard to get caught up on Livi that I am behind on Mason. The last page I just took the same layout as one of the Mason pages and adjusted it for Olivia. I did 5 scrapbook pages today!!!! Yahoo!

Everyone of these pages have some stuff from Summer Driggs (see link in credits). She has a photo announcement business here in Az and sometimes whips out a digi kit for free. I LOVE the colors she uses. Go to her blog and get her stuff...don't forget...it's free!

Livi's First Birthday!

For a while it will seem like I am posting all of the time but it is just because I am trying to get Livi's first year printed. I think that I am going to use Shutterfly.

I just redid Livi's first birthday. I had just started digi scrapping when I did it the first time and I don't love it. I told myself I wouldn't go back and redo all of my first stuff, but I just HAD to do this one.

Credits: Papers and buttons from Leah Riordan’s Blog Kit at oscraps.com. The small stripe paper is from Misty Cato’s Wild Sorbet kit. The scallop shape is from Heather Ann Designs. The bracket shape is from storytellersclub.com. Fonts are 2peas Platform Shoes and Juice ITC.
